(Washington, DC) Today, the House of Representatives passed a resolution that allows Congress to get critical relief to the American people as quickly as possible, under a procedure known as budget reconciliation. Reconciliation would allow President Biden’s American Rescue Plan to pass the Senate with a simple majority, rather than the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster. Representative Malinowski voted in favor of the legislation.

(Washington, DC) This week, Representative Malinowski voted to pass an expansive Fiscal Year 2021 House Appropriations bill that prioritizes public health and pandemic preparedness, invests in education and job training, combats the gun violence epidemic, fights back against white supremacist terrorism, protects our environment, and increases funding for our roads, bridges, and rail systems. The bill is the result of bipartisan, bicameral negotiations and is expected to be signed by the President this week.

(Somerville, NJ) Today, Representative Malinowski applauds the residents of New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District for their efforts in ensuring a complete and accurate 2020 Census count. Following the completion of the 2020 Census count last week, the U.S. Census Bureau announced that NJ-07 has the highest self-response rate in the state, with 79.3% of constituents responding. That is more than 2 points above the district’s response rate in 2010.
