“Thank you so, so much for holding this hearing and for having me. I’d like to use my time today on behalf of the 7th district of New Jersey to urge reinstating the full State and Local Tax deduction.
(Somerville, NJ) This week, Representative Tom Malinowski hosted a Telephone Town Hall on the American Rescue Plan, the $1.9 trillion relief package to address the unprecedented COVID-19 public health and economic crisis. Residents of New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District received information on how to take advantage of the bill’s benefits and had the opportunity to ask questions and share their comments. Over 5,000 constituents from across the district joined the call.
(Washington, DC) Today, the House of Representatives passed the American Rescue Plan Act, a $1.9 trillion relief package to address the unprecedented COVID-19 public health and economic crisis. This legislation will accelerate vaccine distribution, speed the opening of schools, provide direct support to millions of struggling Americans, and dramatically lower health care costs for middle class families. Rep. Malinowski voted in favor of the bill. President Biden is expected to sign the legislation into law this week.
(Washington, DC) Today, Representative Malinowski voted to pass the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, a bipartisan bill that strengthens workers’ rights to negotiate for living wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions. Rep. Malinowski is an original cosponsor of this legislation. All 12 members of New Jersey’s bipartisan congressional delegation voted in favor of the bill.

(Washington, DC) Today, the House of Representatives passed a resolution that allows Congress to get critical relief to the American people as quickly as possible, under a procedure known as budget reconciliation. Reconciliation would allow President Biden’s American Rescue Plan to pass the Senate with a simple majority, rather than the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster. Representative Malinowski voted in favor of the legislation.

The bill is the result of bipartisan, bicameral negotiations and is expected to be signed by the President this week.
