Washington DC – Today, Congressman Malinowski, Congresswoman Nita Lowey and Congressman Albio Sires are leading over twenty of their North Eastern colleagues in calling on Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Secretary Elaine Chao to finalize and publish the Hudson Tunnel Project Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), which will allow the critical Gateway Project to finally move forward.
Washington DC – Today, the House passed HRes 124, a bipartisan resolution opposing President Trump’s ban on transgender individuals serving in the U.S. Military. On July 26, 2017 President Trump sent out a tweet reversing the Obama era policy allowing Transgender troops to serve openly and proudly. The President did not consult with the Pentagon before his announcement.
Washington DC – Today, the House passed the Paycheck Fairness Act, which closes loopholes in the 1963 Equal Pay Act, and protects women who are paid less than men for doing the exact same work. Congressman Malinowski, and the entire bipartisan delegation of New Jersey, are co-sponsors of this legislation.

Yesterday in Christchurch, New Zealand a white supremacist slaughtered at least 49 Muslims as they prayed. Americans know this story all too well. We understand the pain and horror that every New Zealander is feeling right now. Our hearts go out to everyone who lost a loved one.
Today the Senate voted to block President Trump’s National Emergency declaration, with 12 Republican Senators joining their colleagues across the aisle. On February 26th the House passed the same legislation in a bipartisan manner to help protect the constitutional balance of power between Congress and the President.

When I was running for Congress, I heard again and again that Americans are losing faith in their government. People asked why the votes they cast don’t lead to the outcomes they want.
Today the House passed H.R. 1112, the Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2019, with bipartisan support. This bill will close the “Charleston Loophole”, which allows the sale of a firearm to move forward if a background check is not completed within three business days.
