Press Releases
It's crazy that we have to be introducing this bill. But it is, unfortunately, both necessary and urgent, for three reasons.
(Rocky Hill, NJ) - From the moment President Trump began this shut down, I’ve argued that our dispute is not about how we secure our border, but about how we govern our country. It is utterly wrong for a president — any president — to shutter the government of the United States when he can’t persuade the Congress and the American people to give him what he wants.
(Somerville, NJ) New Jersey 7th Congressional District Representative Tom Malinowski released the following statement in commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
In America, we have holidays and monuments that celebrate heroes from our past, most of whom have legacies that are settled. Washington was the father of our country. Jefferson wrote the words that define our creed. Lincoln saved the union. Roosevelt ended the Depression and won World War II. Dr. King was different. His journey was unfinished. His legacy remains unsettled.
As a former Assistant Secretary of State, Senior Director on the National Security Council, and Washington Director for Human Rights Watch, I hope to bring unique experience and knowledge to the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Investment in public infrastructure is key to America’s greatness and essential to our national security. It has been a generation since Congress took on a comprehensive effort to reshape our nation’s transportation policies and Americans are suffering for it.
SOMERVILLE, NJ - Congressman Tom Malinowski (NJ-07) is pleased to announce the opening of his District Office in Somerville. The temporary space is up and running at 58 E. Main Street, Somerville to handle constituent needs. The temporary office is open from 9am - 5pm Monday-Friday.
More than 60 Members of Congress Urge Action to Continue Efforts to Address Opioid Epidemic
(Washington, DC) – Today, more than sixty members of Congress called on Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer to prioritize policies that will help tackle the opioid epidemic.
The president gave a recklessly dishonest speech tonight. There is no humanitarian crisis at the border except for the one created by his own policy of detaining families. It has not deterred desperate people from seeking refuge in the United States, but has overwhelmed detention facilities and the asylum system.
Tonight, the US House of Representatives did the responsible work of passing legislation to reopen the government. We have sent to the Senate the same spending bills that it passed last month with unanimous Republican support, which provide the president with far more money for border security than he has been willing to spend thus far.
