(Washington DC) Today the House passed H.R. 4, the Voting Rights Advancement Act (VRAA). This legislation restores the protections and enforcement of the Voting Rights Act (VRA) to its former strength, before it was gutted by the 2013 Shelby County v. Holder Supreme Court decision. Congressman Malinowski is a co-sponsor of this legislation.
(Washington DC) Today the House overwhelmingly passed the TRACED Act. This bipartisan, bicameral legislation will protect Americans from illegal robocalls. Congressman Malinowski was a co-sponsor of the legislation, and it is expected to be signed into law by the President.
(Washington DC) Today, the House passed H.R. 3702, the Reforming Disaster Recovery Act of 2019. The bill permanently authorizes the Community Development Block Grant for Disaster Relief (CDBG-DR) program, which provides critical support for state and local governments’ disaster recovery efforts.
(Washington, DC) Today, Congressman Malinowski led a group of lawmakers in a letter asking leadership of the Judiciary Committee to move forward on legislation that will address the increase in distribution of nonconsensual pornography (NCP), also known as “revenge porn”. The letter is in response to the recent extreme circumstances surrounding the resignation of Congresswoman Katie Hill.
