Representative Malinowski to Host Q&A with IRS Representative

April 8, 2021
Press Release

(Somerville, NJ) On Tuesday, April 13th, Representative Malinowski will host a virtual conversation on Economic Impact Payments, and to discuss other ways the American Rescue Plan can help New Jersey families. Rep. Malinowski will be joined by a representative from the IRS who will answer participant questions and provide information on how the IRS is working to enact the recent changes.

This March, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan, a $1.9 trillion relief package to address the unprecedented COVID-19 public health and economic crisis. The bill provides assistance to households across America by supplying a direct payment of $1,400 for individuals making up $75,000, head of household filers with incomes up to $112,500, and joint filers with incomes up to $150,000. The bill also increases the amount of the Child Tax Credit from $2,000 to $3,600 for children under age 6, and $3,000 for other children under age 18. It is estimated that these changes will lift nearly 10 million children across the U.S. above or closer to the poverty line. This includes an estimated 89,000 children in New Jersey.
